Bethany College Founder's Day to Feature Historian and Johns Hopkins Visiting Scholar Dr. D. Duane Cummins

Bethany College will celebrate 172 years as a small college of national distinction with its annual Founder's Day Thursday, March 1. Festivities will include the traditional Founder’s Day Convocation at 11 a.m. in historic Commencement Hall featuring guest speaker Dr. D. Duane Cummins. A former president of Bethany College, Cummins serves as a visiting scholar in history at Johns Hopkins University, teaching advanced courses in history to graduate students since his retirement as President of Bethany College in 2002.

PNC Bank - Pittsburgh President To Deliver Commencement Address at Bethany College

Sy Holzer, President of PNC Bank - Pittsburgh, will deliver the keynote address at the 172nd Anniversary Commencement Ceremony at Bethany College, according to Dr. Scott D. Miller, President of the College.

Junior Class Council to Host Blood Drive at Bethany College

Members of the Junior Class Council at Bethany College will sponsor an “Everyday Supporter” blood drive from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16 in the Agostino Room in Benedum Commons.

Amy R. Colantoni has joined the staff at Bethany College as the new Director of Student Activities at Bethany College. Her appointment was announced by Dr. Darin Fields, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Dr. Scott D. Miller, President of Bethany College, has been elected to a two-year term as Chair of The Council of Colleges and Universities of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Bethany College Announces Fall 2011 President's List and Dean's List

Bethany College has announced the President's List and the Dean's List for the fall semester of the 2011-12 school year. Those named to the President's List must have achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average while completing a minimum of 12 graded credit hours. Those named to the Dean's List must have earned a grade-point average of 3.65 or better for the semester while completing a minimum of 12 graded credits.
